A cycle of Five Ballads for clarinet and piano op. 22o was completed in December 2018, when the fourth and fifth ballads were composed. A performance is scheduled for December 2019.

These ballads were written at the suggestion of clarinetist Stefan Neubauer, who premiered the first three ballads in November 2017 at the Wiener Musikverein.
