The world premiere of René Staar's oratorio Schwarzer Schnee [Black Snow] op. 22q, a commission from the Tonhalle Düsseldorf for its Human Rights Concert 2022, had to be postponed due to corona.
Now the work has finally been successfully premiered on May 3, 2024 at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, along with a performance of Robert Schumann's 4th Symphony.
Soloists were Marisol Montalvo (soprano) and Sylvie Rohrer (narrator). The Chorus of the Städtischer Musikverein zu Düsseldorf and the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra have been conducted by David Reiland. Enikő Ginzery played the cimbalom part.
